Humanististen tieteiden kandidaatin tutkinto (HuK, englanniksi BA eli Bachelor of Arts) on perustutkinto, joka on hyvä lähtökohta oman alan työtehtäviin. Oppilaitoksesta ja valitusta opinto-ohjelmasta riippuu, kestääkö HuK-tutkinnon suorittaminen kolme vai viisi vuotta.

Historia voi tutkia yhtä ihmistä, tiettyä kuttuuria tai tiettyä maata, mutta usein se muodostaa myös yleisiä katsauksia laajemmista suuntauksista. Historian opiskelijoiden pitää toisinaan toteuttaa tiettyyn aiheeseen keskittyvä tutkimusprojekti.

From the Bronze Age to the Crusades and beyond, it’s an absorbing three-year journey exploring the archaeology, history, art and religion in the British Isles, continental Europe and the Mediterranean.
